NEW YORK, Apr 26 (Reuters) - CMI Energy placed $700 million in green bonds and closed a contract for a $300 million syndicated loan, the company said on Monday.
The green bond maturing in 2029 was offered with an interest rate of 6,250%, the firm added, calling the transaction “the largest green bond placement by a renewable energy company in Central America and the Caribbean”.
CMI Energy, part of the Guatemala-based CMI Capital group of Corporación Multi Inversiones, said the proceeds will be used to refinance its entire debt project. (Report by Rodrigo Campos. Edited by Miguel Angel Gutiérrez)
